My practice at Fitzwater Law focuses on estate (probate) and trust administration. This includes taxable trusts and estates which require more complex tax analysis and the preparation of an estate tax return. I am licensed in Oregon and Washington.

Practicing in the field of trust and estate administration means that I often work with spouses, family members, and friends who have been named as Trustee or Personal Representative after a loved one’s death or incapacity. People often feel overwhelmed with the idea of being in charge, especially as they are grieving and adjusting to their loss. I want my clients to feel at ease knowing they can rely on me to be accessible and to answer all their questions. I enjoy helping my clients understand their duties and making the overall process easier to undertake.

I am originally from Nebraska and attended undergraduate college at Loras College in Dubuque, Iowa. I moved to Oregon in 2003 to better experience the great outdoors and work with at-risk youth. After law school at Willamette University College of Law, I practiced in workers’ compensation and employment law for several years before entering the world of estate planning and administration. I feel lucky to have found my home in such a special practice area and at Fitzwater Law. The wonderful people here care so much and work so hard for our clients; I cannot imagine ever wanting to work in another field or at another firm.

I spend my free time with my husband and two young kids, often reading books and singing/dancing around the house.  I love to run with my local running groups and out on the trails.
