SHAUNA M. HANEY | Attorney
My highest priority is helping my clients feel heard, respected, and cared for. I know my clients have worked hard all their lives, and now they want to feel certain that all of their ducks are in a row. I help my clients take a step-by-step approach to their planning to make sure they aren’t leaving any loose ends to be tied up for later in life or for their loved ones. I feel so honored to have the chance to help my clients achieve real peace of mind through estate planning and administration.
I was born and raised right here in the Portland area, and my family has lived in Oregon for three generations. I spent several years away from Oregon while obtaining my law degree at Penn State and then beginning my career in southern California, conducting Social Security Disability hearings and representing injured workers seeking workers’ compensation benefits. While I valued this diverse experience, elder law was always my calling, and Oregon was always my home.
Public service and giving back to my community have always been important to me. During law school, I worked as a certified legal intern for Penn State’s Disability Law Clinic. I also volunteered for Wills for Heroes, preparing estate planning documents for first responders, and for the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program, preparing tax returns free of charge for vulnerable members of the community. Upon graduation, I was awarded Penn State’s Public Service Graduate Fellowship for my demonstrated commitment to public service. I continue to volunteer today with the Senior Law Projects in Multnomah and Clackamas Counties.
Outside of work, I enjoy getting to the coast as often as possible and spending time with the people (and animals) I love.
